This was posted on the supposed end-of-the-world day. This is my “end-of-world” piece, that I decided to make. First thing you’ll notice is that it’s not exactly “O Fortuna” in its epic-ness. Mainly because that is not what I wanted this piece to portray. No Latin chanting and epic strings.
Something a bit more deep was needed here I felt, so I decided to practice composing a short piano duet, and I got some inspiration on how to do it from a certain scene in “Corpse Bride“. That said, the piece is split into 3 phases, Solace, Evolve, and Passing. Think of them what you will. I really like what I came up with. The choirs at the end are sampled from the London Bulgarian choir, which I thought was needed to really push the ending to what I had in mind. Enjoy!
