Jeremiah George is from London, UK and is 20 years old, and is currently a student at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication in London, UK studying a degree in Music Production for Media BA (Hons). Jeremiah is aiming to get into the video game industry as a video game composer.
Jeremiah’s musical influences come from various video game music especially those that come from RPGs (role-playing-games). He takes his melodic and rhythmic influences from Japanese video game composers Yoko Shimomura and Motoi Sakuraba respectively. He gives it to world renowned Japanese video game composer Nobuo Uematsu who inspired him to go on his path to become a music composer for video games.
His main instrument is the piano which he started playing at the age of 12. He’s self-taught for the most part, and he’s never had any real formal lessons, just a few informal ones. He’s also a percussionist and knows how to play in a number of different time signatures. He took GCSE Music at Kingsford Community School in London, UK. Then at Newham Sixth Form College in London, UK he took a National Diploma BTEC Music Technology course.
He has been composing and performing since 2008. He has never performed anywhere big, but on a number of occasions he has performed in the popular venue in Newham, London called Stratford Circus, an entertainment venue that showcases a lot of music, comedy, dance and creative art talent. He has great experience in using FL Studio and Logic Pro, and small experience in using Sonar, Abelton Live and Pro Tools.
His music style takes a lot in from the minor scales whilst always trying to come up with something with some sort of moving rhythm. He generally uses orchestral instruments in his music, occasionally using guitars, synths and other instruments. As far as video games go, he is great at composing fast-paced pieces, particularly for battle and boss themes in RPGs.
On the side, he does a little bit of sound design, editing, writing and voice acting. He’s voiced in radioplays and other fan-related material. He also writes his own radioplays and has two in the works. One is called Eternal Genesis which is on-going, and the other one is called Relesthesia, a sci-fi, thriller that is currently in writing.
